Meeting I.

To Witness a transformation
A photographic series capturing what words cannot contain.
Birth is not a beginning, but a transformation. This series documents the moment Isabella passed from the enveloping world of the womb into the external world — a threshold where sensations reorganize the experience of being alive.
From a psychoanalytic perspective, prenatal life is not an empty wait, but a time of intense sensory impressions: experiences without form, without words, yet already imprinted in the psyche.
In black and white, these photographs aim to capture that passage — from the fluid, continuous space of the maternal body to the fragmented reality of cold, light, sound, and skin.
I was there, one of the first to meet her. She arrived crying, then calmed as she rested against her mother’s chest — as if the world had softened in that touch. It was not a beginning, but a continuation.
This series is my attempt to hold, through images, what could never fully be said.
